Did you know the Bible tells us there is only one way to heaven?  Many people are confused by the different ways they hear how a person gets to heaven.

The one thing every person knows for sure is that one day they will die.

The good news is the Bible tells us the way to have eternal life when we die.

That way is the good news of Jesus Christ.  The Bible is truth, and it can be trusted.  Many have tried to disprove it, only to find they can't.  Let's see what the Bible says about how we can know for sure we will go to heaven when we die.

The Bible tells us that we are all sinners Romans. 3:23

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

 Sin earns us wages, which lead to spiritual death and eternal separation from God.  Romans 6:23

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

But there is good news.  The last half of Romans 6:23 says that eternal life is a gift that only comes through Jesus.

We learn from John 3:16 that Jesus Christ came to earth, lived among us, and died for us, that all who put their faith in Him will have eternal life.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Many people believe their good deeds help get them to heaven.  In Ephesians 2:8-10 the Bible tells us it is faith alone that saves us, not our works.

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The Bible is clear, no one is "good enough" to earn their way to heaven.   Isaiah 64:6 reminds us our own "righteous" works cannot save us.

Isaiah 64:6  But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags;

Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone!

Romans 10:9-10 tells us it is a heart commitment that saves us.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

When you realize you are a sinner in need of a Saviour, you must repent of your sin.

Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

When we confess and forsake our sin with a heart of repentance, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, He forgives us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

People often pray when they trust Jesus Christ as their Saviour, something like this.

Lord Jesus, I realize I am a sinner and want to be saved.  I confess my sins and ask your forigivness, and put my faith competely in You.  Thank You for saving me.  Amen.

What you must realize is that saying the words of this prayer or one similar will not save you.  Only putting your full faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will save you from a devils hell.
